Google to Reward $200,000 For Identifying Android Bugs

Cyberspace is increasingly becoming a beehive for wild creatures – Trojans and various variants of worms. These malevolent and lifeless specimens are dangerous to technology as they infect healthy systems in order to paralyze it or to demand a heavy ransom amount or for identity theft. Recently, “Judy” the gaming malware at Google play store had dropped the jaw of android world infecting over 36.5 million android phones. And what more, this malicious app had surreptitiously penetrated app store a couple of years ago and managed to remain undetected till late. Reportedly, Google has removed all such malware affected apps from the app store after Judy discovery.


Android app development is at the peak with its free designing platform to call android app developers to draw their signature over app store. However, Thousands of android apps are finding their way to the play store as free installs. Unsuspecting users have been downloading these apps with little or no care of threat of security. Report says-the old versions of Android OS which are feeble on security options are easy victims than their recent updates. Thus, to ensure a flawless Android functionality, Google had started bounty program two years ago and now it’s revising that program with $200,000 as prize money. And this bounty is to encourage more and more engineers and researchers for hunting bug in Android and help to strengthen the Android development platform letting skilled app developers showcase their talent over app development.
